The Intel Tab | Deer Movement Types
The AI Deer Prediction model is one of the deadliest tools in Spartan Forge’s arsenal. Located in the Intel section of the app, it provides you with a “Movement” and “Pattern” prediction based on an analysis of historical and real-time data.
This prediction model was built using a combination of collared deer data and historic weather from around the country. That data was input into our model and is able to predict white tailed deer movement in localized areas with a high level of accuracy.
While this model won’t tell you exactly where the deer are or where to hunt, it can be used in conjunction with your knowledge of deer movement in your area to come up with a solid plan for each day you plan to hunt.
Predictions Explained:
Before going into what these predictions mean, it is important to understand that these models are localized. . The prediction that you see in your Intel tab is generated based on where your crosshairs are currently on the map.So your predictions may be slightly different between hunting spots.
Movement: There are three movement predictions; Core Area(CA), Transition Area(TA), and Full Range(FR).
CORE AREA (CA)During Core Area days, you can expect deer to remain close to their bedding areas in daylight hours. Overall Movement will be less than average making an encounter more difficult. If you have a good stand location in a bedding area, this is the day to hunt it, especially on Very Abnormal pattern days.
TRANSITION AREA (TA)On Transition Area days, deer will likely travel beyond their core areas during daylight hours but remain short of their full range. On these day, deer may visit scrapes and food sources throughout the day. Stands in those locations would be ideal.
FULL RANGE (FR)Lastly, on Full Range days, deer will cover more ground and travel their full range in daylight hours. Overall movement will be much greater on these days. Think peak rut, when bucks are willing to travel miles over their entire range. This is another good day for hunting scrapes as bucks from other areas will likely be venturing into areas they aren’t normally in to check and freshen up scrapes.
