Coal Country - A West Virginia Mountain Buck Hunt Film

For three years, Beau Martonik, host of the East Meets West Hunt podcast, has been trying to successfully spot and stalk a big mountain buck in the reclaimed coal mines of the bowhunting-only counties in southern West Virginia. Hunting whitetails on the ground takes a mixture of prolonged patience with timed aggressiveness sprinkled in. The rugged mountains of southern West Virginia are beautiful, yet unforgiving, testing your lungs, legs, and mind. In November 2023, all the stars aligned for an epic six-hour stalk on a mature whitetail buck.
